ABC Hit and Miss Fencing

Hit and Miss fencing is structured so that the pales or boards are alternately fixed on the front and the back of the panel with an over-lap to create a stylish pattern.

They can be part of a premium ‘good both sides’ range, as both sides are the same, so you and your neighbour both have the best looking side of the fence.

Hit and Miss fencing is suitable for creating perimeters, but also an aesthetically pleasing structure as it will still allow light through.

Accompanying gates can also be supplied and installed by our fencing installers.

Why Choose Hit and Miss Fencing?

Hit and miss fencing has become one of the most popular boundary options for UK homes and commercial sites.

We install hit and miss fences that balance privacy, strength and style.

• Privacy without feeling boxed in
The overlapping board arrangement blocks direct sightlines from neighbouring gardens and pavements, while still letting daylight filter through.
• Built to handle British weather
Solid panels act like a sail in high winds. A hit and miss fence lets gusts pass between the staggered boards instead of pushing against them, so it’s far less likely to lean, crack or come down in a storm. That makes it a sensible choice for exposed gardens, coastal plots and open countryside.
• Attractive from both sides
Because the boards alternate front and back, each side looks the same. You and your neighbours both get a finished look, which often makes shared boundary conversations a lot easier.
• A long service life
Built with pressure-treated timber and properly set posts, a hit and miss fence from ABC Fencing will typically give you 15–20 years of service. With occasional treatment, many last longer still.
